24 teenagers, boys and girls, are cast back into time when they enter through the gates of St Andreas Maritime School.
Over a period of three weeks they will be taught all subjects, both practical and theoretical, in exactly the same way they were taught in the fifties. All students will be boarding. From as soon as they arrive at St Andreas they will have to live according to, and abide by the rules, regulations and discipline of the day.
It goes without saying that mobile phones, IPods and all other gadgets are strictly forbidden and have to be handed in at the beginning of term.
St Andreas is a poor school. The students are therefore expected to help out with general maintenance chores. Coping with a nineteen fifties diet also turns out to be quite a challenge for many of the students.
In “That’ll Teach Em” the teenagers are confronted with themselves and with the very strict teaching staff of St Andreas. It quickly becomes clear that the values of today are very different from those of past generations. Will our wayward kids adhere to the strict rules and regulations of the fifties or will they rebel?
